You may be asking; why plant a new church or even start another church? The truth is Hawaii doesn’t just need another church. Truthfully there are many great Pastors and phenomenal churches doing wonderful things in Hawaii. What we want to do is jump in with what God is already doing in Hawaii and add more healthy, vibrant, hell shaking, kingdom expanding movements of God that are focused on – Letting those far from Him Really Know Him!
God has given us an overwhelming desire to plant a life-giving church in Oahu, Hawaii. This community is 95% unchurched and dechurched and is in desperate need of hearing the message of Jesus Christ. Statistics show the most effective way to reach the unchurched is through new church plants; and that is why we must go.
For some time now, Jackie and I have known we were called to something far greater than ourselves. As we continued to seek the heart of our Father we began to see that His call on our life was not to only to pastor a church, but to begin a church planting movement. As we now see this dream becoming reality, we are filled with excitement and anticipation to begin this God-inspired journey. This is not going to be an easy step to take but we are confident that we are doing what God has called us to do and we are excited to see God fulfill His purpose in us.
For the past 10 years, we have been a part of two church plants that we started from scratch. We were also part of the great staff at World Harvest Church in Columbus OH. Throughout these 10 years and two states God began developing in our hearts a greater passion for our generation and the world. During this time, God had cultivated within us a huge heart and passion for planting two churches in Oahu, Hawaii. This dream didn’t start out of the blue. God placed Hawaii in our hearts in 2000, then again in 2005, but we knew then that it was not time. We are confident that serving in the capacity that we have experienced over the last 10 years has prepared and equipped us for this time in our life. We feel that God has not only prepared us but has also prepared a people and a place- that place is Hawaii. From Hawaii we know that God is going to bring a revival that will touch not only the state of Hawaii but also the Pacific Rim and the World. We strongly feel that God has prepared us for the biggest step of faith that we will have made thus far.
OUR PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE TIMELINE:
+ June 2002: First church was planted in Las Vegas, All Nations Church.
+ January 2005: God started to place in our hearts the possibility of planting a church in Hawaii.
+ June 2007: Moved to Ohio and Joined the Staff of World Harvest Church.
+ January 2010: Second church planted in Las Vegas, The City’s Church.
+ July 2012: Our Family will be moving to Kapolei, Hawaii.
+ August 2012: We will begin to hold weekly City Core meetings.
+ December 2012: Hold the1st of 4 monthly informational meetings.
+ January 2013: Hold the 2nd of 4 monthly informational meetings.
+ February 2013: Hold the 3rd of 4 monthly informational meetings.
+ March 2013: Hold the 4th of 4 monthly informational meetings.
+ April 2013: Official Grand Opening Month for TCC Hawaii.
