Why stay inside and just hear the Gospel when we are called to be the Gospel. At The City’s Church we are passionate about God, serving people and just flat out helping others. We know that we are called by God to be His hands and His feet whether we are serving at the local food bank, cleaning up after a city sponsored event or just handing out bottles of water; we want to be there.
Beginning the first week of August 2012 we will be getting involved with the community. Every Saturday & Tuesday we at The City’s Church have devoted our time, treasure and talents to be the Church. We will do whatever it takes by any means necessary to be a blessing, bring hope and share the love of Jesus.
I know some may wonder why we are doing this before we even launch our Church. The truth about TCC is that we believe we should be the Church even before we launch a Church. Just because we gather in buildings on Sundays it doesn’t really define what Church is; because the word Church really means Ecclesia! Ecclesia means called out ones, a gathering and a people. So Church isn’t about buildings, where we hear sermons, special music and are part of programs; Church really then is people!
At TCC we know that one day we will be meeting in buildings for the purpose of gathering together, hearing great messages and being part of the programs associated with a weekend experience. However, as much as we love to know that one day that will happen, we first want to be the Church. Even after we start having weekend experiences where we will all gather together we wont stop going Beyond Walls to bring hope to our City!
Beyond Walls will not only be focusing locally but globally through Providing Food, Giving Shelter, Clothing, Medical Supplies, Mission Trips, Church Planting, Natural Disaster or Human Crisis our desire is to be there.
